Anuga is the most prestigious international fair dedicated to the agri-food sector in the world. One of its most characteristic aspects are the ten specialized events that the exhibition has: some of them are Anuga Fine Food, dedicated to gourmet products, Anuga Meat, focused on meat products or Anuga Organic, whose focus is food and organic drinks. The most anticipated fair in the agri-food industry will take place at the Kölnmesse GMBH in Cologne, Germany, from October 7 to 11, 2023.
With an area of 244.400 m2, this fairgrounds welcomed more than 169.653 visitors from 201 countries in the 2021 edition and accommodated 7.962 exhibitors . Spain was positioned for the first time in second place with 371 exhibiting companies, only behind Italy, which had 727. The pavilion of our country, organized by ICEX, had 159 exporting firms. These were concentrated in the thematic sectors dedicated to meat products, dairy products, non-alcoholic beverages and wines, frozen foods, delicatessen and preserves, among others. Chocolates Valor, The Fini Company, Aceitunas Valdelacasa, Inés Rosales or Campofrío Frescos were some of the Spanish companies that participated in Anuga 2021.

However, inconvenients have not prevented Anuga from presenting novelties in this past edition, such as those referring to alternative meat proteins, driven by trends towards veganism, or the Clean Label, since more and more detailed information is being demanded about of the product.
“In the field of Anuga Fine Food we are clearly noticing that countries and companies want to use Anuga to access new sales markets after the collapse of markets such as Russia and Ukraine”, explained Stefanie Mauritz, director of Anuga.
Clearly, trends are changing and many companies are adapting to the circumstances of the sector by developing and launching new products and processes. Anuga FoodTec was held in 2022, an international meeting point where technological ideas for the food sector were shared and presented, including smart automation in production processes and the sustainable use of natural resources to improve the value chain.

Tickets will be available for purchase on their website in July, three months prior to the event.
